Meet Caroline
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I grew up in Winchester Mass with my dad, Billy, my mom, Paula, and my older brother, James. Living in Winchester is not easy if you are the slightest bit different. I had a hard time in school and I struggled with finding my place. After getting into some trouble, I changed schools for my junior and senior year of high school. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am now a freshman at Lesley University in Cambridge Mass and I'm studying to be an art therapist. Creating art and helping people are two of my passions in this world and if I can make that into a carreer then I consider myself to be extremely lucky.

Please share a story with us that relates in any way to this movement.
Shortly after my sixteenth birthday, I was put into a rehab facility. I was in a dual diagnosis program for addiction and depression. What I felt for the two years leading up to that moment, I would never wish upon my worst enemy. My self-esteem was non-existent; I barely ate in an attempt to lose weight; my depression was so bad that I was convinced I would not make it to my seveneenth birthday. Today, I am a nineteen year old woman who is working hard to achieve a life I have always dreamed of. I still struggle, some days more than others, but as Iong as I keep my goals in mind, my family close, and remember that my worst day sober is so much better than my best day on drugs, I know I can make it.
Why do you want to be a part of she.?
Women are powerful, strong, and beautiful and too many of us do not know that. As women, we need to stick together to rise above the pressures that are holding us down.
